How do I dispose of old/damaged batteries?

When Lithium Ion batteries reach the end of their life, either through age or damage, they must be disposed of appropriately. They must not be sent to landfill.
Please check with your local authorities how to appropriately dispose of Li Ion batteries in your area. Commonly, Li-ion recyclers will take batteries in free of charge.
